climb the mountain, young squirrel

It seems that i am finally beating the bug that has been keepin a brother down these past couple days. I woke up coughing, took a shower, texted Jason that I wouldn't be at work still, then napped until around ten.

I got up and the sun was shining and the grass was green and suddenly i had the urge to move spontaneously. I tried walking up and down the stairs. That didn't fulfill my need for sporadic movement. I paced back and forth in the kitchen. Still anxious... Too bad my bikes are all in bountiful...

I hopped in the geo and drove up ogden canyon. When I saw the Indian trail parking lot, I veered off the road and hit the E-brake; flinging rocks and tearing my new tires to shit.

Today was officially my first hike of the summer season and where better to go than the place that i spent most of my highschool career sluffing? Nostalgia right there buddy.

I got to the Emergency Shelter and decided to go straight up to the top of the mountain. On the way, I found a tee shirt draped in a tree. It was white, XL, and stated in forest green print, "Pleasantview: A great place to live". I also saw a lot of deer poop and climbed on some rocks.

The best part is that my lungs were clearing up; though at first it felt hard to breathe. If i have the energy to hike, then i guess i should go back to work tomorrow and start rebuilding my endurance base. I am very excited to start training again!

going to give this whole blogging thing a try. I'm hella sick and can't sleep because of coughing fits so here i am...

The high uintas went shitty. By some divine intervention, I made it over the top of bald mtn pass without getting dropped by the likes of hoffman, d'hulst, sohm, aaron olson, and the guy in the slipstream kit. I was sick as fuck and thought maybe a top five was possible and that all flushed down the toilet when i flatted outside of evanston. Playing in the rain wasn't a good idea because its almost three days later and I'm coughing up my lungs.
